Meet Fairlie A. Arrow
From an early age, I understood something that has stayed with me my entire life: animals are not here for us, they are here with us.
— Fairlie A Arrow

Fairlie A Arrow-

Fairlie Ann Arrow is a documentary filmmaker and conservation storyteller whose work is driven by a lifelong connection to animals and the natural world. Raised in Australia surrounded by rescued animals from kangaroos and sheep to dogs, cows, and horses, Fairlie developed an early, unshakable understanding that animals are not background to our lives, but individuals who belong on this planet alongside us.

Over the past two decades, Fairlie has dedicated her career to telling stories that reveal what happens when human expansion collides with the natural world. Her films focus on the lived reality of human-wildlife conflict—where climate change, habitat loss, pollution, and misunderstanding place both communities and animals at risk. Whether documenting elephant conflict in Zambia, pelicans starving along the California coast, or the quiet suffering of wildlife harmed by everyday human choices, her work gives voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.
In 2025, Fairlie founded the
Human-Wildlife Coexistence Initiative (HWCI) to extend her filmmaking beyond awareness and into action. The nonprofit was created to use powerful, emotionally driven storytelling to educate our children as well as global audiences, support frontline rescue and conservation organizations, and inspire real-world solutions that protect wildlife while honoring human communities. A movement through films, educational programs, and strategic partnerships, HWCI exists to help people see wildlife not as a problem to be managed, but as neighbors we must learn to live alongside.
Fairlie believes storytelling is one of the most transformative tools we have. When people see the faces, feel the stakes, and understand the consequences of inaction, compassion follows and with it, change. Through HWCI, she is building a platform for stories that matter now, in a moment when the survival of countless species depends on our willingness to listen, learn, and act.
