A Front-Row Seat to Conservation in Action
Welcome Animal Behavior College Students - Wings in Crisis
Welcome, ABC Students.
Animal Behavior College has partnered with the Human Wildlife Coexistence Initiative (HWCI) on Wings in Crisis - the first film in our Guardians of the Wild documentary series. We made this page just for you: watch the trailer, meet the film, and find your way into working with and helping the animal world your training is preparing you for.
About the film
Wings in Crisis is currently in production. It follows the people on the front lines of wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, scientists, and advocates working to give wild animals a future alongside us. Among the voices in the film: Zoli Teglas, Keith Matassa, Dr. Alissa Deming, (OARRA), Melissa Borde (Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve), Paul Watson, and Captain Dave Anderson.
At its heart, the film is about coexistence: the choices we make every day that decide whether wildlife survives-and how each of us can be part of that story.
Why this partnership matters
As an ABC student you are learning about working in the world this film is about. Whether you are studying to work with pet dogs and cats, or work with wildlife in a zoological setting, the reality is animals of all species are a needed ecosystem for human survival. In order to preserve the beautiful human, animal, and nature balance, we must learn to peacefully coexist. We all know our planet is facing an unprecedented crisis, with countless species being pushed toward extinction and others already lost forever. As pet professionals and animal lovers, it is our responsibility to not only acknowledge the problems but be the voices for animals who cannot speak for themselves, to help raise awareness and fuel conservation. You know animals as individuals-their needs, their instincts, their intentions. Wings in Crisis was made to give people like you a bigger stage: to turn everyday expertise into public understanding, and public understanding into action.
